OSKALOOSA, IOWA – The Grand View women's basketball team defeated William Penn 66-51 on Wednesday evening in Oskaloosa, improving to 17-7 overall and 14-2 in conference play behind a dominant performance from Amaya Davison and clutch shooting from Anna Gossling.
The Vikings seized control early in the opening quarter. Gossling knocked down back-to-back three-pointers, while Claire Galbraith added a jumper to help Grand View build an 8-2 advantage. Eva Solseth converted a layup assisted by Knock, and Amaya Davison drilled a three-pointer to extend the lead. William Penn answered with a pair of buckets to stay within striking distance, but Gossling hit her third three-pointer of the quarter to give the Vikings a 16-14 lead after one period.
Grand View extended their advantage in the second quarter despite a strong push from William Penn. Davison went to work at the free-throw line, converting multiple attempts while adding a three-pointer assisted by Taryn Ottemann. Gossling contributed a layup and later hit her fourth three-pointer of the half to push the lead to 28-21. Galbraith added a late layup in the paint, and Davison knocked down two free throws in the final second to give the Vikings a 32-26 cushion at halftime.
The third quarter saw the Vikings pull away behind Knock's dominant interior play. Knock scored four consecutive layups in the paint, assisted by Gossling and Galbraith, as Grand View's lead ballooned to double digits. Gossling added a jumper and converted two free throws late in the period. Despite multiple three-pointers from William Penn, the Statesmen couldn't cut into the deficit. The Vikings took a commanding 48-36 lead into the final quarter.
Grand View closed out the game in the fourth quarter with efficient shooting. Lily Smith opened the period with a jumper, and Gossling drilled her fifth three-pointer of the night assisted by Smith to push the lead to 53-37. Davison and Ottemann added layups to extend the advantage to 20 points. Abigail Jones capped the scoring with a late three-pointer assisted by Smith. The Vikings' defense remained stout down the stretch, securing the 66-51 victory.

- Anna Gossling led all scorers with 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting, including 5-of-9 from three-point range, adding 3 rebounds.
- Ellie Knock was dominant inside with 12 points on a 6-of-10 shooting from the field with 3 rebounds.
- Amaya Davison contributed 16 points, going 5-of-8 from the free-throw line, with a team-high 11 rebounds for a double-double.
- Grand View shot 39.7% from the field and 70.0% from the free-throw line, improving to 17-7 overall and 14-2 in conference play.
