DES MOINES, IOWA – Grand View Men's Soccer faced Morningside for their home opener, delivering a dominant 3-0 victory behind a strong team performance and precise finishing. The Vikings controlled much of the game, creating multiple scoring opportunities and maintaining pressure throughout the match.
The action kicked off with Grand View establishing an early presence. In the 42nd minute,
Justin Figaroa opened the scoring with a well-placed shot, assisted by
Payton Chapman, giving the Vikings a 1-0 lead heading into halftime. Coming out in the second half, Grand View continued their offensive push, adding a second goal in the 76th minute when
Dylan Hunston found the back of the net. The Vikings didn't let up, and in the 84th minute,
Tim Schoorlemmer scored with an assist from
Ignacio Gonzalez, sealing the victory with a 3-0 scoreline.
