OSKALOOSA, IOWA – Grand View men's volleyball wrapped up the regular season on Tuesday night with a straight-set loss to William Penn, falling 25-21, 25-23, 25-14 on the road.
The Vikings came out strong in the opening sets, staying within striking distance and pushing the Statesmen late into each frame. However, costly errors and a late push from William Penn in each set proved to be the difference. Grand View was held to a .137 hitting percentage on the night, while the Statesmen posted an efficient .322 mark.
Daniel Galili led the Vikings with 12 kills, and Andre Leandro added seven kills while hitting .500.
Rafael Obrusnik notched 29 assists and five digs, while
Ryan Griffel chipped in eight kills and a pair of blocks. Grand View dropped to 16-6 overall and 14-5 in conference play to close out the regular season.
With postseason play up next, the Vikings will look to regroup as they head into the Heart of America Athletic Conference tournament.
