Box Score OLATHE, KS – The Grand View Men's Soccer team's conference postseason run came to an end with a 2-0 defeat against MidAmerica Nazarene University in the Heart of America Conference Tournament semifinals. Despite a strong defensive effort, the Vikings couldn't overcome the offensive pressure from a talented MNU squad.
MidAmerica Nazarene opened the scoring in the 1
st minute when Elyes Ellouz found the back of the net with the assist by Jaxon Slaven. Then in the 77th minute Vladimir Buljan extended the lead, assisted by Thomas Giraudo, giving the Pioneers a 2-0 lead. Grand View fought hard to respond, generating a total of 10 shots, with two on goal, but was unable to find the net.
The Vikings' goalkeeper,
Luis Helm, made four saves in a valiant effort, but the team faced a disciplined and organized MNU squad that limited their offensive opportunities. Grand View committed 11 fouls and received one yellow card, demonstrating their competitive spirit despite the challenging circumstances.
While their season ends here, the Vikings will now await the announcement of the NAIA Opening Round selection, hoping to earn an at-large bid and continue their postseason journey.
