SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The Grand View women's basketball team hit the road over the weekend, taking on Midland University on Saturday and Briar Cliff University on Sunday in Sioux City for a pair of games in the BCU Classic.

The Grand View Vikings wasted no time setting the tone, jumping out to a fast start and never looking back in an 18-point win over Midland.
The 1st quarter opened trading baskets with Midland, with scores from
Eva Solseth and
Claire Galbraith. With 5:27 left in the quarter, Grand View went on a 14-6 run with great defensive plays and multiple 3-pointers coming from
Anna Gossling and
Hannah Hartley, losing the first period ahead 25–14.
The Vikings kept their foot on the gas in the second quarter as Solseth stayed hot from deep, hitting two more threes as the Vikings stretched their lead. Gossling and Galbraith each added another from long range, and
Taryn Ottemann converted at the line to push the margin to 41–21. By halftime, Grand View's sharp shooting and defensive pressure had built a commanding 57–32 advantage.
To start the second half,
Amaya Davison added points at the free-throw line, while
Ellie Knock and
Kori Alcorn helped maintain control on both ends. By the end of the 3rd quarter, the Vikings had pushed their lead to 26 points, with a score of 74-48.
The fourth quarter saw the Vikings points coming from Galbraith,
Eva Peterson, Claire Ladage, and
Addalyn Rooney. Though the Vikings were outscored in the fourth quarter 19-11, Grand View was able to keep control of the game, taking the victory 85-67.
GAME NOTES (MIDLAND):
- Eva Solseth led the Vikings in scoring with 20 points on 8-11 shooting and 4-5 from deep.
- Anna Gossling recorded 3 steals and 19 points on 7-12 shooting and 5-8 from deep.

The Grand View Women's basketball team fell 79–67 to Briar Cliff on Sunday afternoon inside the Newman Flanagan Center, closing out the BCU Classic 1-1.
Anna Gossling led the Vikings with 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting, including three 3-pointers, while adding six rebounds and three steals.
Ellie Knock contributed 10 points along with six rebounds, a steal, and two blocks.
The Vikings battled through an early Briar Cliff surge after the Chargers jumped ahead 9–2 in the opening minutes.
Amaya Davison got Grand View going with a finish inside, and buckets from Solseth and
Ellie Knock helped trim the deficit to one midway through the first quarter. Gossling capped the period with a three at the buzzer to keep the Vikings within striking distance at 24–15.
Grand View continued to attack the lane in the second quarter, finding success from
Eva Peterson and
Taryn Ottemann down low. Despite a strong defensive stretch, the Vikings trailed 39–27 at halftime after Briar Cliff closed the half on a 6–3 run.
The Vikings made their best push in the third quarter, as Gossling found one from the perimeter and added 3 steals in the quarter. Knock put in two layups and found a 3-pointer to help surge the Vikings within two on a 10-2 run in the middle of the third. However, Briar Cliff responded with a run of its own that lasted through the end of the quarter, maintaining control and pushing their lead to 14 with 7:32 to play in the fourth quarter. The final stretch of play was back-and-forth baskets, ultimately ending the game in a Viking loss of 79-67.

- Ellie Knock contributed 10 points along with six rebounds, a steal, and two blocks.

- Taryn Ottemann came off the bench to grab four rebounds and added seven points.
