Men’s Soccer Closes Out the Regular Season With a 0-2 Loss to #16 William Penn

Box Score OSKALOOSA, IOWA – The Grand View Men's Soccer team concluded the regular season with a tough 2-0 loss to William Penn University on the road. Despite a resilient effort, the Vikings were unable to find the net against a disciplined Penn defense that kept them at bay throughout the match.

William Penn opened the scoring in the 78th minute when Matias Meijide finished a shot assisted by Mathis Thyl. The Vikings responded with increased pressure, but William Penn doubled their lead in the 82nd minute when Javier Perez scored, assisted by John-Joe Mullane. The Vikings fought hard until the final whistle but couldn't overcome the deficit.

Grand View's goalkeeper Luis Helm made six saves in the game, including several critical stops to keep the scoreline close. The team created a few scoring chances, totaling five shots on goal, but couldn't convert against the opponents' organized defense.

The match was competitive throughout, with the Vikings committing seven fouls and receiving two yellow cards. Despite the loss, the team displayed determination and effort, finishing their season with valuable experience for their upcoming post season endeavors.
