Grand View Football Elevates Jordan Knock to Offensive Coordinator Role

DES MOINES, IOWA – Grand View University Head Football Coach, E.J. Peterson, announced on Monday the promotion of Jordan Knock '17 to Offensive Coordinator for the Grand View University football team.

Jordan Knock, a 2017 Grand View graduate who recently completed his third season at Grand View as the Quarterbacks and Wide Receivers Coach and Recruiting Coordinator, played a pivotal role in preparing the 2024 squad for the National Title. Under his guidance, the Vikings averaged 188.0 passing yards and 402.9 total yards per game, ranking them among the top 10 nationally. In the championship game, the Vikings delivered an impressive performance with 485 total yards. Quarterback Jackson Waring set a season and school record with 203 rushing yards, complemented by 132 passing yards and four touchdowns.

Under Jordan Knock's leadership, Grand View has amassed an impressive array of major awards. In 2022, quarterback Johnny Sullivan earned Heart of America Player and Offensive Player of the Year honors, along with AFCA All-American recognition. The accolades continued in 2023 when quarterback Jackson Waring was named Heart of America Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year, accompanied by three Wide Receivers earning All-Conference honors. Most recently, in the 2024 season, Waring achieved unprecedented success, being named Heart of America Player of the Year, an AFCA All-American, and the program's first-ever NAIA Player of the Year.

Before returning to Grand View, Jordan Knock spent two years as an assistant coach at NCAA Division II Upper Iowa University, where he worked with wide receivers and quarterbacks on the Peacock staff. Prior to his tenure at Upper Iowa, Knock served as a graduate assistant at NCAA Division I University of South Dakota, focusing on the Coyotes' offense while earning his master's degree.

As a player, Knock had a stellar career at Grand View, where he was a two-time Heart of America Offensive Player of the Year. In his senior season in 2017, he passed for 3,429 yards and rushed for 315 yards over 12 games, accounting for 44 total touchdowns—30 passing and 14 rushing. He led the Vikings to nine wins and their second consecutive appearance in the NAIA Football Championship Series. Knock still holds Grand View's single-game records for passing touchdowns (6) and passing yards (527).

"Knock brings a youthful energy and hunger to the role of offensive coordinator. Having worn the jersey himself, I know how much this program means to him. I'm excited to see him grow as a coach and play-caller, and I'm confident he'll continue to bring passion and innovation to our offense," said HC E.J. Peterson.

Reflecting on his promotion, Knock shared his excitement: "I am honored and excited to take on the role of offensive coordinator. This opportunity allows me to continue to build on the success our team has had. We have a great group of athletes, and I'm eager to get to work this offseason preparing for the next season with them," he said.

Knock will take over for another former GVU QB great, Derek Fulton, effective immediately.
