DES MOINES, IOWA— The Vikings finally got in the last DH of the series with Graceland University. The Vikings split the DH earlier in the year, Carsen Wadel would walk the Vikings off in game 2 of the DH played in Lamoni.
GAME 1: Jason Moist would get the start for the Vikings his third in 10 days as the Vikings took on the Yellowjackets of Graceland. A triple in the bottom of the third inning got the energy in the Viking dugout going as they cut the lead to 1 making it 4-3. He was followed up by a 2 run RBi from Heinen to take the lead. After some trouble in the middle innings the Vikings would battle back tacking on two runs in the 4th and a Brock Rinehart home run to left to tie the game back at 8. Heinen would have an RBi in the bottom of the 7th to keep the Vikings alive. Drew Scherbenske would be credited with the win coming into the game with runners on first and second no-outs, getting out of the jam setting up a walk-off grand slam to send the fans home happy in game 1.
GAME 2: The Grand View bats stayed hot into game 2, Hank Himrich would homer in the bottom of the second inning to take the 2-1 lead. Adding another run in the third with a single from Zeke Balderas on the 6th pitch of his at-bat. The Vikings would then take the lead on a wild pitch to a 4-3 advantage. Logan Smith is credited with the win in game two, giving up four hits and three runs over four innings. Josh Stoll would throw two scoreless innings in the fifth and sixth to keep the lead. Jacob Wolver would come in to shut things down striking out two of the three batters that he faced. Woulver would collect his third save on the year and Smith is now 5-2 on the season.
