Vikings Cook Yellowjackets in Road Tilt

LAMONI, IOWA – The Grand View University Vikings embarked on their second-to-last regular season road contest. The Vikings faced off against the Yellowjackets of Graceland University. In a display of sheer dominance, GVU swiftly swept the game, completing the regular season sweep over the Jackets. The set scores were 25-15, 25-10, and 26-24.

The Vikings dominated early in the opening set, jumping to a 12-7 lead. Grand View led all but one time in the first set. GVU had 12 kills to the Jackets' eight, hitting .455% a clip. A final kill from Leonardo Annichini would solidify the first set 25-15.

Grand View would dominate early in the second set, stretching to a 12-5 lead in the early goings. Four straight kills from the Vikings, including three by Annichini and one from Daniel Galili, would make the score 22-9. Two errors from the Jackets would coast the Vikings to a 25-10 set two victory.

Graceland, not one to back down, put up a commendable fight in the final set of the evening. The Yellowjackets, showing their mettle, held a 22-19 lead before the Vikings launched a comeback. A well-timed timeout from GU after GVU trailed by two showcased their strategic thinking. However, it was Galili's back-to-back kills that sealed the deal for the Vikings, resulting in a 26-24 win.
