DAVENPORT, IA- The Vikings bounced back from 1-1 split from last weekend's games with a pair of wins over the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees. After an extra-inning win in the first game, 9-6, the Vikings were able to bounce back with a decisive win in game two to cap off the afternoon, 5-2.
The Vikings struggled early in the first game as the Bees jumped out to a quick 6-1 lead in the first 4 innings of play. Grand View came alive in the top of the 5
th inning as they plated 5 runs to even the game up at 6 runs apiece. This scoring burst was sparked by a
Mia Noelker double to score the first two runs of the inning. The game would remain tied through regulation before the Vikings connected on 4 hits to bring in 3 runs in the top of the 8
th to seal the win.
Jessica Walljasper would pick up her 2
nd RBI of the game in this inning.
Madi Huisman would pick up the 9-6 win in game one after only surrendering 2 hits in 2 innings pitched.
Huisman stayed on the mound after finishing the first game and picked up her second win of the day by throwing 7 more innings and only surrendering 5 hits. The Vikings did their scoring early as they scored 4 of their 5 runs in the 3
rd inning highlighted by a Walljasper 2-run homer and a Regan Henn RBI double to center field. The Bees made a push in the bottom of the 6
th as they scored 2 runs, but the Viking defense would shut them down in the final frame to secure the 5-2 win.

The Vikings open Heart of America play this coming Saturday, March 23
rd. They take on Park University in Parkville, MO with a doubleheader starting at 1 PM. The Vikings will also take on Baker University on Sunday in Baldwin City, KS. That doubleheader is also set for a 1 PM start.
