Vikings Football Introduces 2024 Recruiting Class

DES MOINES, IOWA - Grand View University football signed 28 high school student-athletes to National Letters of Intent and added seven transfers as part of National Signing Day on February 7.

This 2024 class marks the seventh recruiting class of Viking football head coach Joe Woodley. The Vikings fill needs at every position, but especially on the defensive side of the ball, adding nine linebackers and four defensive ends to a renowned defense. Grand View adds seven transfers from programs such as Iowa Central Community College (OL - Jake Vore), reigning NJCAA National Champions Iowa Western Community College (WR - Louis Brooks, RB - Jaden Koger), The University of Iowa (DE - Jackson Filer), The University of Northern Iowa (OL - Nate Timmons), Mount Marty University (WR - Jonah Miyazawa), and Winona State (DE - Eli Moses). Grand View hits the recruiting trails hard in their home state, inking 34 Iowans out of 35 recruits.

The Vikings (10-1 in 2023) are reloading after advancing to their 12th FCS Play-Off appearance and winning their 5th straight Heart of America Conference Championship. Grand View will return seven starters on both sides of the ball; as they reload, they look to continue their depth.

WORDS FROM WOODLEY:
"Signing day is usually an indicator that recruiting is over or coming to a close.  We have never operated that way here. To have a successful program, recruiting must be a daily habit; we are constantly trying to improve our roster daily.  We will continue to recruit all the way up until fall camp starts. With that being said, I am pleased to announce the commitments we have at this point.  We were able to bring in 7 transfers this semester that will fill some voids in regard to depth. We are also pleased to announce 28 high school commitments. It is always difficult to forecast what will become of this class, but if we do our job as coaches, we can develop them into a championship group."
