KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced today, Wednesday, October 23, 2024, the Top 25 Coaches Preseason Poll. Grand View University's women's basketball team earned the 17th spot in the nation for the 2024-25 season, making them the only team from the Heart of America Conference in the Top 25. Both Benedictine and MidAmerica Nazarene received votes but did not rank.
Dordt University, the No. 1 team, earned 12 first-place votes. Grand View is set to play them on November 8th at the Pizza Ranch Classic in Orange City, IA. The Vikings hold a 6-5 overall record against Dordt, though they lost their last meeting. During this trip, Grand View will also face No. 19 Northwestern College.
Grand View's season opener is against Morningside next Tuesday. It will be followed by an exhibition game against Drake University at the Knapp Center at 6:00 p.m. This tough non-conference schedule is expected to challenge the Vikings early in the season.
