DES MOINES, Iowa – No. 3 Grand View Football had their home debut this Saturday, a hot start would propel them to a big win, defeating Missouri Baptist, 45-13.
The Vikings opened up the game with an electrifying play to match a packed Duke Williams Stadium. The first play of the game the Vikings would have Jackson Waring throwing 75 yards (for his game long), to Damon Street for the touchdown setting the tempo for the contest.
The long ball would be a theme for the No. 3 Vikings as Waring would make a notable debut for the first time collegiately in Iowa. Waring was 20 of 29 completions and threw for 405 yards and 5 touchdowns all in 3 quarters of play. Damon Street would be the leading receiver in today's game for the Vikings with 5 receptions for 133 yards and 2 touchdowns. Seth Juhl would follow closely behind with 121 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively the third ranked Vikings were led by Gabriel Jacon-Duffy with 8 total tackles, who noted an impressive sack for a total loss of 10 yards. Cade Sheedy, Michael Acri, and Aaron Brown all tallied 4 tackles. Seth Adrian pulled in an interception for the gain of 19 yards, setting the Vikings up into Spartan territory, which led to a touchdown by Tim Nimley.
