Des Moines, IA - The Vikings would get back to it quickly following Saturdays contest, the Vikings would host Mount Mercy for their second conference match, the Vikings would get doomed from a slow start falling to the Mustangs 3-1. 

How It Happened: The Mustangs would find the back of the net early, after the Vikings had a costly turnover in the 6th minute. Shortly after their first goal, the Mustangs would capitalize once again and would make the contest a 2-0 fight early for the Vikings. Although the Mustangs would get two to land, the Vikings would outshoot Mount Mercy 6-5. 

The Mustangs would score in the final few minutes of the first half, leading to the Vikings having to climb themselves out of a hole the entirety of the 2nd half. The Vikings would get a few chances through the 2nd half to find a goal, as they would once again outshoot the Mustangs 6-4. Jayce Berger would be rewarded for his hustle and would get a a cross from Lier Ayarza that would result in the first goal for the Vikings in the contest. Berger's goal would find light in the Vikings, but wouldn't be enough to close the gap as the Mustangs would run away with it, 3-1.

The Vikings will hit the road for the first time this season in terms of conference play. The team will direct their attention to the Park Pirates, the contest will begin at 1:00 p.m.
