Devon Wells

Wells will begin her 12th season with the Vikings and third as Head Coach. While at Grand View she was apart of a 258-91 record while on staff. As an assistant, she has coached several All-conference and All-Region players as well as 11 student-athletes that were named NAIA All-Americans.

During her tenure as an assistant coach at Grand View, the Vikings made it to the final site for nationals eight times including three elite eight finishes and three top 16 finishes.

Wells began her collegiate volleyball career in 2009 where she received first-team All-Conference and All-Region honors all four years. Along with the conference and region recognition, Wells was named Conference Player of the Year three of her four years at Grand View (2009, 2010, 2011).

At the national level, Wells was a 4x All-American earning honorable mention honors in '09, third-team in '10, first-team in '11, and second-team in '12. During her career at Grand View, she accomplished many individual and team milestones. Individually, she tallied more than 2,600 kills and over 2,100 digs. She was also one of the top kill leaders in the NAIA during her four seasons at Grand View.

There were also several team milestones she was a part of, some of those include: being nationally ranked for the first time in school history, beating teams that were ranked in the top 10, winning conference championships, playing in the NAIA first round, and making it to the final site at the NAIA championships.

Coach Wells's athleticism goes beyond the volleyball court, she was also an All-Conference and All-American track and field thrower. In her fifth year at Grand View, she played women's basketball where she received Heart of America All-Conference honors.

Devon also competed in Premier Volleyball League playing for the Iowa Ice, where they hold gold and silver finish in the PVL championship in 2013 and 2014. With the gold medal, the team earned the honor of representing the United States at the 2013 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championships that were held in Zurich, Switzerland.

Wells (Jensen) graduated from Underwood High School in 2009. She participated in volleyball, basketball, track, and softball. She was an All-Conference athlete in all sports. She was also an active member of the community through the Underwood Optimists program and teacher aids. She was also a member of the National Honors Society.

Wells will continue her duties as the tournament director at the Iowa Region Volleyball Association while coaching. She resides in Des Moines with her husband Tyler.
