Coach Yacinich will begin his 23rd season at the helm of the Grand View University softball program this spring, 2025. The program has qualified for the NAIA National Tournament 9 times: 2006, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2024. Yacinich holds an overall record at Grand View of 701-441.
Coach Yacinich is an alumnus of Grand View and played baseball from 1981-1985. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration in 1985. He earned his Master of Arts in Leadership from Bellevue University in 2008.
Coach Yacinich has been involved in the NAIA at a high level. He served as President of the NAIA Softball Coaches Association in 2012-13. He also served on the NAIA Softball Tournament Committee for many years.
Coach Yacinich was fortunate to play Men’s Major Open Fastpitch softball for 10 years. He is a member of the following: Grand View Athletic Hall of Fame, Des Moines Men's Fastpitch Softball Hall of Fame, and the Iowa Amateur Softball Association Men’s Fastpitch Hall of Fame.
