Grand View University

Grant Henderson took over the storied Grand View wrestling program prior to the 2025-26 season, succeeding legendary head coach Nick Mitchell. In his first season at the helm, Henderson guided the Vikings to one of the most successful years in program history. Grand View posted a perfect 14-0 dual meet record, captured the NWCA National Duals title, won the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship, and claimed the NAIA National Championship. The Vikings crowned nine All-Americans and four individual National Champions. For his outstanding leadership, Henderson was recognized by his peers as both the Heart of America Athletic Conference Coach of the Year and the NAIA Coach of the Year.

Before becoming head coach, Henderson spent six seasons as an assistant coach from 2019-20 through 2024-25. During that span, the Vikings won five NAIA National Championships and finished as national runners-up once. As an assistant, he helped develop 17 individual National Champions and 63 All-Americans, contributing to one of the most dominant eras in collegiate wrestling history.
As a student-athlete at Grand View, Henderson was a three-time NAIA All-American and a two-time NAIA National Champion. During his career, the Vikings captured five consecutive national titles. The 2017 Grand View team set the NAIA team scoring record with 234.5 points and was later inducted into the Glen Brand Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Prior to Grand View, Henderson wrestled for Alburnett High School, where he was a multiple-time Iowa state placewinner and helped lead the Pirates to an IHSAA State Team Championship.
Henderson earned bachelor's degrees in Sport Management and Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance, from Grand View University in 2018. He completed a master's degree in Organizational Leadership in 2025.
He currently resides in Ankeny, Iowa, with his wife, Karlie, and their daughter, Wrenley.
