Grand View University

Scott Bohlender joined the Viking golf coaching staff in the fall of 2011. Prior to Grand View, Bohlender was head coach for both the men's (12 years) and women's (4 years) golf teams at Drake University. He started the women's program at Drake and guided the Bulldogs to five team wins and 20 top-5 finishes over four years.  The team improved their stroke average from 333 in its first year to 307 in year four. After taking the reins of the bulldog men in 1999, the program quickly elevated to the top of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC), won ten team titles, and placed in the top five 59 times. The Bulldogs won four Big 4 titles; a 36-hole competition between Iowa's four NCAA Division I golf programs.

Also during his time at Drake, the Bulldogs produced one NCAA All Central Region Player, three NCAA Post Season tournament appearances, 19 All-Conference performers, three MVC individual medalists, and two MVC Players of the Year.  The men maintained a team GPA of 3.1 over 12 years and the women 3.355 over 4 years and the teams were recipients of seven Academic All-American awards and ten MVC Scholar-Athlete Awards. 

Scott resides in West Des Moines with his wife Meghan, and their sons AJ and Josh.
