Adam Hepker enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Grand View University men's basketball team.

Hepker spent the past five seasons as an assistant coach at MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas.

In those five seasons, MidAmerica compiled an overall record of 102-64, including three appearances at the NAIA Division 1 National Tournament in Kansas City. In 2012-2013 they finished in the Elite 8 and in 2013-2014 they finished in the Final Four. MidAmerica was Heart of America Conference Champions in 2011-2012. Hepker coached at least one NAIA Division 1 All-American in each of his five seasons at MNU.

As a player, Hepker was a four-year starter at MNU from 2004-2008. During those four years, MidAmerica amassed 115 wins, including four appearances at the NAIA National Tournament, three straight Final Fours, and an NAIA National Championship in 2007, in which Hepker was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player. Hepker was a Second Team All-American as a sophomore and a First Team All-American as a junior and senior, as well the Heart of America Conference Player of the Year his junior and senior seasons. He graduated from MidAmerica in 2008 with a degree in History and Government Education.

Hepker would continue his playing career professionally overseas for the Cocoon Baskets Weiden in Weiden, Germany for one season in 2008-2009 before beginning his coaching career the following year. Adam also taught at Frontier Trail Middle School from 2010-2015. He was inducted into the MNU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013.

Adam and his wife Amy, a teacher in the Johnston School District, have one daughter named Brenley (2) and live in Ankeny.
