Tyler Martin

Tyler Martin enters 12th year as an assistant football coach at Grand View. He earned the title of Heart of America Assistant Coach of the Year in the 2021 season. Throughout his tenure managing Special Teams Operations and Defensive Backs, Martin has guided eight All-Americans.

Prior to Grand View, Martin served as the defensive backs coach and special teams coordinator at Dodge City Community College during the 2010 season. Martin began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Northwest Missouri State University coaching the safeties and outside linebackers. Coach Martin coached two outside linebackers to all-conference honors in 2009, a safety to all-conference honors in 2007, and Division II national player of the year honors in 2008.

A native of Bendena, Ks., Martin played collegiate ball as a safety at NWMSU. While there, he played or coached in five straight NCAA Division II national championship games, winning the National Championship in 2009. Martin earned his bachelor’s degree in public relations from Northwest in 2006, and his Master’s degree in Athletic Administration in 2009.

Tyler and his wife, Steph, reside near Granger with their children, Maddie, Case, and Will.
