Sterbick begins his first year as the Viking's offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach.

Sterbick comes to Grand View after three years as a graduate assistant at Washington State from 2005-08. Sterbick assisted with the wide receivers for the '06 and '07 seasons. In 2007, Washington State finished 1st in the Pac-10 and 8th in the nation in passing yards per game with 319.7. Three of the receivers Sterbick assisted with have signed contracts in the NFL. Jason Hill was a 3rd round draft pick by the San Francisco 49'ers in the 2007 Draft, while Michael Bumpus and Charles Dillon signed free agent contracts with the Seattle Seahawks and Indianapolis Colts following the 2008 NFL Draft.

Prior to his time at WSU, Sterbick spent the 2004 season at the University of North Dakota as the tight ends and offensive graduate assistant coach on the Fighting Sioux's national semifinalist team. Sterbick was the wide receivers coach at Missouri Western in 2003-04.

As a player, Sterbick was a four-year letterwinner at Augustana where he was a starting wide receiver and punter. Sterbick was an Honorable Mention North Central All-Conference punter his senior year. The Second Team All-State defensive back from Des Moines Lincoln High School played in the 1998 Iowa High School Shrine Bowl all-star game.

Sterbick graduated from Augustana College in 2003 with Bachelors Degree in Physical Education and a minor in Government/International Affairs. He recently completed his Masters degree in Higher Education/Educational Administration from Washington State University.
