Nick Benedetto begins his first year at Grand View as the defensive backs coach.

Benedetto comes to Grand View from the University of South Dakota where he served as an assistant coach for the cornerbacks as well as the technology and video coordinator from 2009 to 2011.  He was part of a team that had upset victories against FBS University of Minnesota 41-38 in 2010 and Eastern Washington (Ranked #1 in FCS poll) 30-17 in 2011.  Coach Benedetto coached two all-conference cornerbacks during his time at the University of South Dakota.

A native of Crystal Lake, Ill., Benedetto played his collegiate career at the University of Sioux Falls. As a standout defensive back, he finished with 94 tackles, seven interceptions and 32 passes defended. He helped USF claim two NAIA national championships in 2008 and 2006 and runner-up honors in 2007. He was the 2008 Team Defensive Captain and was part of a defense that ranked #1 in 9 out of 10 defensive statistical categories.  Benedetto was part of a 52-3 record while playing at the University of Sioux Falls.

Following his collegiate career, Benedetto played for the arena football team the Sioux Falls Storm as a defensive back for the 2009 season.              

Benedetto earned his bachelor's degree in Mathematics from University of Sioux Falls in 2009 and his Master's degree in Sports Management in 2011.
