Grand View University

Mike O’Brien enters his first season with the Grand View Vikings as the kickers and punters coach.

Prior to Grand View, O’Brien was the special team's coordinator at Alden Hebron High School in Hebron, IL from 2013-2015 and in 2018, coached kicking and punting at Aurora University of Illinois in 2016, and was the kicking consultant at Palatine High School, IL in 2017.

As a player, O’Brien was a two-year starting kicker at McHenry High School and went on to Northwestern College in Orange City to become a three-year starting kicker in 2008, 2011, and 2012. O’Brien was also a part of semi-pro football teams as a kicker and punter for Lake Country Venom, Illinois Cowboys, and Midway Mauraders.

Coach O’Brien is currently a school social worker for the Heartland AEA and lives in West Des Moines.
