Derek Fulton joined the coaching staff at Grand View as the Offensive Coordinator in 2019.

In his inaugural season as the Vikings' Offensive Coordinator, Fulton guided one of the nation's leading offenses to the FCS National Title Game in 2019, amassing nearly 3,000 passing yards and 29 passing touchdowns.  Along the way, he coached three All-Americans (Sullivan-QBx1 and Turner-WRx2) and five recipients of the Heart of America Offensive Player of the Year award. Fulton has been honored twice as the Heart of America Athletic Conference Assistant Coach of the Year (2019, 2023).

Fulton was a four-year starting quarterback for Grand View from 2012 to 2015 and went 41-6 during his time as a Viking. Fulton helped lead the Vikings to their first-ever NAIA National Championship in 2013 and was named NAIA National Championship Offensive Player of the Game. Fulton also earned Heart of America Athletic Conference Player of the Year in 2014 and 2015 and was a 2014 AFCA NAIA All-American.

After completing his undergraduate degree in sports management at Grand View University, Fulton spent the spring of 2016 as a student assistant running back coach for the Vikings.

He then spent two years as Missouri Western University's graduate assistant quarterback and inside receiver coach while earning his master of applied science in sport and fitness management degree.
