Brent Curvey

Brent Curvey begins his first year as assistant coach for the Vikings. Curvey was a four-year standout at Iowa State University where he earned First Team All-Big 12 honors in 2005 and Second Team recognition in 2006. He is most known for the one-handed interception return against Colorado in 2005.

Curvey went on to get picked up as a free agent in the NFL by the Carolina Panthers in 2007. After being released by the Panthers, Curvey went to the CFL to play for the Saskatchewan Roughriders for two seasons (2007-08) where he won the Grey Cup championship with the organization in 2007.

Following the two-year stint in Canada, Coach Curvey moved back to Iowa in 2009 and played three seasons in the Arena Football League for the Iowa Barnstormers where led the team in sacks for three years, set a single game sack record, and was an All-League selection.

Curvey earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology from Iowa State. He currently resides in West Des Moines with his fiancé Patrice and sons Jeremiah, Malachi, Brice, and daughter Mariah.
