Stacie Horton is in her 22nd season as the head coach of the Grand View Competitive Dance team.
This past year, the Vikings placed 4th at the NAIA National Championship for the second-straight year in a row. Also competing at the ISDTA Competition, Grand View took home a second-place finish in pom, jazz, and hip-hop.
Horton started her dance team career as a SE Polk Rhythamette for four years, two of which she was a captain. She continued her passion as a dancer with the University of Iowa Dance Team for four years and was captain her last year. She choreographed and coached the Iowa Barnstormers dance team for two years before moving on to coach at Grand View.
Horton has been involved with ISDTA for several years in many capacities; State Solo Judge 8 years, All Iowa Honor Dance Team staff member 9 years and event host 6 years, ISDTA College Combine host for 3 years, as well as the 2018 Recipient of the ISDTA Lifetime Achievement Award. She served as a judge for the Central Iowa Critiquing Clinic for 9 years. Stacie has worn many hats while at Grand View within the NAIA division including NAIA Heart Conference Cheer & Dance Committee Chair 3 years, NAIA Heart Conference Host 3 years, NAIA Cheer & Dance Executive Committee Past President 3 years, NAIA Cheer & Dance Executive Committee President 3 years, NAIA Cheer & Dance Executive Committee Vice President 3 years, and NAIA Cheer & Dance Executive Committee Secretary 3 years.
Horton resides in Altoona with her husband Joe and is the proud mom of their three sons Davis, Cole, and Jack.
