Grand View University

Austin Marchant begins his first-year coaching for the Vikings. Coach Marchant was a former player here at Grand View (2014-2018) and was a volunteer assistant last year for the Vikings. He is a former 1st Team All-American (2017) and a 2 time 1st team All-Conference pitcher. Coach Marchant led the country in saves his junior year (13) and currently holds 3 school records, saves in a season (13), ERA for a relief pitcher (0.00), and career saves (27). Upon graduating from Grand View, Coach Marchant went and played in the CWL (California Winter League) were he signed a professional contract with the Florence Freedom in the Independent League. After his career came to an end, Coach Marchant started working at SportsPlex West as a pitching instructor for the Iowa Sticks and has been there for the last 4 years
