DES MOINES, IOWA Grand View hosted a day of duals this Saturday, welcoming William Woods University, St. Ambrose University, and Missouri Baptist University into the Charles Johnson Wellness Center. In addition to the three duals, it was also Senior Day for the Grand View wrestlers. The Vikings recognized their seniors that have put so much time and effort into advancing a championship lifestyle and they are all greatly appreciated.
Grand View vs William Woods
Grand View took on William Woods to start their day and No. 1 Aden Reeves secured a TF to kick us off. We received forfeits at 133 and 141, bumping us up to 149 pounds. Senior Cam Baarda took the mat and earned a fall in the first period. We dropped a match at 157 before Dylan Whitt strapped up at 165. Whitt earned himself a fall of his own giving GV another six team points. No. 1 Alex Reynolds was up next and went to work early and often. Reynolds put up 16 points in the first period, onto a TF. Senior No. 7 Jameel Coles wrestled next for the Vikings at 184 pounds and another pin for the home team. At 197 pounds, senior Trayvonne Jackson earned Grand View their fifth fall of the dual. GV received another forfeit at 285 to end the dual with a score of 52-6.

Grand View vs St. Ambrose
The second dual of the day had No. 3 Gabe Gonzales earning a pin halfway through period number one. GV received another forfeit at 133 pounds and Senior Tony Mendoza toed the line at 141 pounds. Mendoza got himself a major decision victory 13-5. Elijah Larsen was next at 149 and ended the match quick with a fall. We dropped a match at 157 pounds and went on to 165 where senior No. 4 Jovon Mitchell took the mat. Mitchell scored 21 points on his way to a TF. Another senior took the mat at 174 pounds as Justin McCunn put on the red and black. McCunn held his opponent scoreless in his 17-0 tech fall. Lucas Hageman was next at 184 and earned a TF as well, making three in a row for the Vikings. Trayvonne Jackson with a major decision at 197 pounds, scoring himself 20 points. Heavyweight ended with Senior Cole Mair fighting his way to a pin in period number two. The final score was 47-3, GVU.

Grand View vs Missouri Baptist
The Vikings final dual of the day featured the opposing school of Missouri Baptist. Grand View received a forfeit at 125 pounds letting the dual start off at 133. Senior Korey Mendoza took the stage for GV and fought his way to a 9-3 decision. We dropped a close match at 141 before Cole Ferguson dominated his match at 149 pounds and got a first period TF. Devin Weber earned a hard-fought win at 157 with an 8-7 victory. No. 3 Cam Robinson put up a 22 piece in his technical fall. Senior Braden Anderson earned four more team points for the Vikings with a major decision. 184 pounds received a forfeit for GV, bumping it up to 197. No. 1 ranked Garavous Kouekabakilaho had everything working, receiving a TF. Senior and No. 1 ranked Greg Hagan finished off the day how he has many times before. A pin in just 53 seconds for Hagan and a round of applause from the fans. The final score was 43-3, Vikings.
