DES MOINES, IOWA — As the Fall 2025 competitive season concludes, Grand View University Esports celebrates another semester marked by championship finishes, national playoff runs, and historic program milestones across multiple titles.

League of Legends (Varsity)

Grand View's Varsity League of Legends program delivered one of its strongest semesters to date. In the NACE Varsity Premier Superconference, GV posted a 5–2 regular-season record, advancing through playoffs to the Grand Finals after defeating reigning champion Maryville University in a statement upset. The Vikings ultimately secured a 2nd-place national finish out of 27 top-tier programs, falling short in a tight 1–2 series to Winthrop University.

Meanwhile, in the NECC Division I bracket, GV continues its lower-bracket playoff surge. As the defending NECC D1 champions, the Vikings look to secure a path back towards a 1st place finish, with a December 4 matchup against Eutectics next on the schedule.

In conference play, GV completed an undefeated season in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, earning both the regular season and postseason championship titles, marking the program's second consecutive HAAC championship.

Overwatch (Varsity)

Grand View's Varsity Overwatch squad navigated a demanding schedule across NACE Varsity Premier, Homecoming Open Division, and the UKY Bluegrass Showdown V Invitational.

Despite a challenging 2–5 Superconference season, the Vikings advanced to playoffs and claimed a Top 16 finish among 54 programs. In the publisher-led Homecoming Open Division, GV closed 7–3, placing 36th of 241 teams, narrowly missing postseason advancement.

A highlight of the semester came at the UKY Bluegrass Showdown, where GV knocked out Briar Cliff in a 3–2 thriller to qualify for the Spring LAN playoffs.

Overwatch (JV)

GV's JV Overwatch team made a significant leap this season, moving up two divisions within the NECC—from Division 6 to Division 4. The Vikings finished 3–4 in the regular season and earned a Top 8 finish in the West conference playoffs. Their postseason battle against Doane pushed the West A Conference's top seed to a full five-map series.

Marvel Rivals

In its first-ever collegiate season at Grand View, Marvel Rivals launched with immediate success. Competing in NECC Division 5, the Vikings advanced to the Central Conference playoffs, ultimately securing a 3rd-place postseason finish after defeating the University of Arkansas in the final match of the semester.

iRacing

GV's iRacing competitor continues to chase breakthrough qualifying times, missing entries to Queen City, Clash on the Beach, and the Harvest Cup by mere tenths of a second.
