HASTINGS, NEBRASKA - The men's tennis team traveled to Hasting's Nebraska last weekend to cap off the Fall season at the Bronco Invite. In the A (top) Bracket, Deschamps rolled to an 8-2 victory in his first round. Meanwhile, Naveda pulled out a gusty win over Diego Infante of Donae, 8-7(2).* Nevada went on to beat Sam Rademacher of Nebraska Wesleyan University in the Semifinals, 8-3. Deschamps also secured the win over Mets Vervloet of Doane in the semifinals 8-5, leading to an all GV Championship match. However, due to an ankle injury Deschamps sustained during his semifinal, the men decided to play their match back in Des Moines on a later date.
Deschamps and Naveda also took home the doubles title. In route they took out teams from Doane, Hastings College, and GV's own Pierre De Chassey and
Adrian Reyes in the semifinals. De Chassey and Reyes put together deep singles runs as well, with Reyes falling the semifinals and De Chassey in the finals of the B Bracket.
