PREVIEW: Vikings Earn Top Seed Entering NWCA Duals in Cedar Falls

MANHEIM, PENNSYLVANIA - The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) has shared the NAIA Men's bracket for the upcoming NWCA/USMC Multi-Division National Dual Meet Championships. Presented by A Better Way AthleticsCapitol Construction, and Defense Soap, this year's event will once again take place at the University of Northern Iowa's UNI-Dome on January 10-11, 2025. The top ranked Vikings will hit Cedar Falls as the top overall seed.

Grand View's top-ranked wrestling program is set to face a major challenge this weekend in Cedar Falls, taking on nationally ranked competitors in one of the season's first significant tests. The Vikings boast an impressive roster, with four individuals currently leading their respective weight classes: Aden Reeves (125), Alex Reynolds (174), Garavous Kouekabakilaho (197), and Greg Hagan (285).

Several other Grand View wrestlers are also making waves in the national rankings: Gabe Gonzales (3rd at 125), Jackson Cockrell (3rd at 133), Carson Taylor (2nd at 141), Darnai Heard (3rd at 149), Elijah Larsen (7th at 149), Bryce Boumans (5th at 157), Cam Robinson (4th at 165), and Braden Anderson (8th at 184).

This weekend's competition promises to be a thrilling showcase of the Vikings' depth and talent.


The top eight seeds in the NAIA Men's bracket are as follows:

  6. Doane
  7. Embry-Riddle
  8. Southern Oregon

This year's event features seven of the top eight placing teams from a year ago including defending National Duals Champions, Life University. Reigning National Champions, Grand View, have received the #1 seed and will be challenged by #2 Life, #3 Campbellsville, and the rest of the field.  You can find information for each of the participating teams in the table below.
