DES MOINES, IOWA – Grand View men's basketball returned to action at Sisam Arena, hosting Mount Mercy in the regular-season series finale between the two. The Vikings dominated from start to finish, cruising to an impressive 87-57 victory to kick off their homestand.
The Vikings' victory keeps them firmly among the top eight in the Heart of America Athletic Conference as they approach the end of the regular season. The win improves Grand View's record to 11-10 overall and 9-8 in conference play.
Grand View set the tone early, jumping out to a 10-2 lead and maintaining control throughout the game, never trailing the Mustangs. A buzzer-beater three-pointer at the end of the first half by the night's leading scorer,
Jackson Green, extended the Vikings' lead to 40-25 heading into the break.
The Vikings carried their momentum into the second half, steadily building on their 13-point advantage. They dominated both ends of the floor, scoring efficiently in the paint and capitalizing on Mount Mercy's turnovers. Grand View's defense was relentless, forcing mistakes, while strong free-throw shooting and timely three-pointers widened the gap even further. With a balanced scoring effort and consistent pressure, the Vikings cruised to an impressive 87-57 victory over MMU.
Grand View's dominant performance was reflected in their impressive team and individual statistics. The Vikings shot an efficient 53.4% from the field, with 40 of their 87 points coming in the paint. Their ability to capitalize on Mount Mercy's mistakes was key, as they scored 17 points off turnovers while limiting their own to just 13.
Jackson Green led all scorers with 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting, adding two steals and hitting five of six free throws.

Ayden Foster each contributed 16 points, with Young dishing out a game-high seven assists and Foster shooting an impressive 70% from the field.
Patrick Worrell also stood out, grabbing a team-high seven rebounds. Grand View's bench provided a significant boost, contributing 21 points, while the team's consistent free-throw shooting (84%) helped secure the win.
