DAVENPORT, IOWA — Over the weekend, the Grand View University indoor track and field team competed in the Battle in the Hive, hosted by St. Ambrose University in Davenport, IA. The Vikings delivered impressive individual performances, highlighted by
Blake Willey in the shot put,
Isaiah Roundtree in the high jump, Addisyn Terpstra, and
Nathan Limas, who set a new school record.
The Grand View University indoor track and field team delivered outstanding performances at the Battle in the Hive meet, highlighted by numerous top-five finishes. On the women's side, Addisyn Terpstra claimed first in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.04 and contributed to the first-place finish of the 4x400 relay team with a time of 4:26.01. Avril Maughan secured second in the high jump with a height of 4-9. Carolyn Miller excelled in the throwing events, placing second in the shot put (40-5.75) and weight throw (47-3). In the distance events, Faith Neeley took third in the 600-meter run (1:51.70) and fifth in the 1000-meter run (3:21.39), while Liberty Leis placed third in the mile (5:44.31) and fourth in the 1000-meter run (3:19.78).
On the men's side,
Nathan Limas dominated the 3000-meter racewalk, finishing first with a time of 12:48.31, and placed sixth in the 3000-meter run (9:16.25).
Isaiah Roundtree won the high jump with a leap of 6-9, while
Mason Thompson captured first in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.41.
Blake Willey showcased his power in the throws, winning the shot put with a throw of 54-8 and taking third in the weight throw with a distance of 51-6. The men's 4x400 relay team also claimed victory, finishing in 3:33.21. These performances highlight the Vikings' strong showing across a variety of events.
