DES MOINES, IOWA – The Grand View Vikings celebrated Senior Day with a thrilling 3-0 victory over Missouri Valley, winning sets with scores of 25-20, 25-18, 22-25, and 25-19.
Sydney Beasley was a standout performer, posting an impressive .500 hitting percentage with 11 kills and 2 block assists, contributing a total of 14 points.
Brooklyn Roder also shone, adding 10 kills at a .320 hitting percentage along with one block assist for 11.5 points. Setter
Jenna Bentz orchestrated the offense with 29 assists and 9 digs, while
Chevy Wagner-Chun anchored the defense with 13 digs. The team's overall hitting percentage of .257 was key in securing their solid victory.
The match was characterized by a fierce back-and-forth battle, with the Vikings and MoVal exchanging leads a remarkable 10 times, including four lead changes in the tightly contested third set. Grand View outperformed Missouri Valley with 14 kills compared to their 8 in that set.
After a slow start, the Vikings regained their momentum in the third set. A pivotal kill from Beasley tied the score at 13, sparking a series of exchanges between the two teams. Grand View gained the upper hand with consecutive kills from
