DES MOINES, IOWA — The Vikings opened up play in Sisam Arena this Tuesday evening. The Vikings would receive a full roster of scoring as they raced past the Faith Baptist Bible College Eagles in a one-sided high, high-scoring affair, 117-68.
The Vikings opened up the game with a nine-to-nil lead over the Eagles. The Vikings held the Eagles scoreless for nearly the first five minutes of the first half. A near-halfway three-pointer by Connor Robertson would extend the Viking's lead to 19-9. Jaxson Young would catch back-to-back lay-ins to further the team's lead to 23-13. A lay-in for Morrison and the clean-up for Cecil Lee III would close out Vikings first half against the Eagles as they led by a touch under 20 points, 53-34.
Grand View would open things up with a steal from Lee III and a cross-court assist to give Markell Hood the dunk to spark things after the halftime break. The Vikings would control the second half much like the first. A trio of Vikings in Nate Hoter, Josh Sanderson, and Carsen Jones would close out the plethora of scoring for the Vikings as they all contributed down the stretch as the Vikings rolled over the Eagles, 117-68.
The next time the Vikings return to the floor will be next Wednesday against the Mount Mercy Mustangs to open Heart of America play at Sisam Arena. The men will tip off their conference opener at 7:30 p.m. following the ladies' game.
