PERU, NE- The Vikings were back in action after Thanksgiving break to challenge another conference opponent as they traveled to face Peru State College. After a hard fought 40 minutes of play the Vikings feel to the Bobcats 104-87. The Vikings were led in scoring by
Markell Hood as he had 17 points and connected on 3-5 shots from beyond the arc.
HOW IT HAPPENED -
The Bobcats jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead before Hood would connect on a pair of jumpshots to get the scoring started for the Vikings 2 minutes into the contest. Cecil Lee was another major contributor in the early going as he went on his own 6 point run a few minutes later to keep the Vikings within 6 points. The Vikings would keep chipping away at it as they were able to cut the lead down to as little as 3 points after the media timeout. The Bobcats would string together a run in the final moments of the half as they were able to open up a 15 point lead before the teams headed for the locker room.
Hood would again start the scoring for the Vikings as he picked up a pair of early jumpers and a 3 pointer to get the team back within 8 points.
Jacob Koontz would also come alive in the second half as he connected on a handful of buckets to keep the Vikings within striking distance coming out of the second half media timeout. The Vikings would battle down the stretch as
Connor Robertson would connect on a pair of threes in the final three minutes but it would not be enough as the Vikings fell to the Bobcats 104-87.
